07.06.2025: DSL takes part in Reaffirmation weekend

65 years of town twinning between Konstanz (Germany), Fontainebleau (France) and Richmond (UK). For one weekend, Richmond was all about celebrating the ‘Twinning Reaffirmation’ and of course the DSL community was actively involved throughout.
Students and staff hosted and looked after participants from across Europe, took part in some of the more than 50 different events, and represented the school at official functions.
Our special focus was on two local collaborations: At the monthly Ham Parade Market, our secondary school contributed a vibrant music programme featuring both German and English pieces. Meanwhile, at the Anglo-German Cultural Festival hosted by neighbouring Grey Court School, our students engaged in joint music, sports, and arts activities with their peers. Adding to the cheerful occasion, the Friends of Douglas House delighted visitors with a traditional German bratwurst stall, offering a taste of authentic German cuisine. It was a weekend of joyful celebration, during which new friendships were formed, future joint projects were envisioned, and bridges were built across communities.
